Cianán Doyle - Designer-Maker

Cianán Doyle is a designer-maker based in Dublin. In his current body of work he uses stainless steel, wood and silver to create a selection of unique tableware pieces. He draws his inspiration from both graffiti artwork and oriental design.
Cianán is currently working on establishing his own workshop and creating a new range of lighting and furniture designs.
According to Cianán “he has always been interested in craft and working with his hands, therefore studying a craft course was an obvious choice for him. The inspiration for his work comes from the graffiti subculture, architecture and minimalist design. ”
Cianán graduated from the National College of Dublin with a BA (Hons) Degree in Craft Design. In 2009, he was selected for the Craft Council of Ireland Craft Awards and took part in both the “Generation” exhibition and the travelling exhibition organised by the Craft Council of Ireland. He also came 2nd in the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin award at the RDS. For 2010 he hopes to take part in the RDS craft competition and Future Makers.
